How Community Solar Works
Community Solar is a green option that makes solar power available to renters and homeowners with no up-front costs or expensive rooftop solar panels. Instead, solar panels are located at local solar gardens across Colorado, which generate power from the sun and deliver it to the Xcel Energy grid. Then, a portion of that power is credited to you, reducing the amount you owe to Xcel. You then pay for those solar credits to Neighborhood Sun at a 10% discount, saving you money every month.
No solar panels on your roof, only on our Colorado solar gardens. We generate power from the sun, then pass it along.
Solar energy is delivered into the Xcel Energy grid.
Xcel Energy applies solar credits toward your utility bill. Then, we bill you for those credits at a 10% discount, saving you money every month.
